LearningQube learning management platform meets Title 1 ARRA objectives

Applying for stimulus funds?
LearningQube learning management platform meets
Title 1 ARRA objectives

July 2009—Stimulus funds can spark more than our general economy. Properly applied, these stimulus funds can inject a fresh approach to your learning environment that will help prepare students to live and compete in this global economy.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has set aside millions of dollars for a range of education technology-related activities, including hardware purchases and professional development for teachers.  Under the Title 1 provisions, your district can apply these funds to directly impact student achievement. All you need are the right tools.

The Program
Funds are available through the Enhancing Education through Technology Recovery Plan. This plan supports acquiring new and emerging technologies, creating new state-of-the-art learning environments, and offering new training and support for teachers.

Innovation funds – money that rewards states, school districts, and entrepreneurs doing good work for kids—will go to the State Education Agencies (SEAs) and the Local Education Agencies or districts (LEAs) that can document successful implementation of No Child Left Behind provisions.

The LearningQube platform – aligned with Title 1
We built LearningQube—the SynapticMash learning management platform—to analyze each facet of the learning process from teacher to learner.
Traditionally in the education software marketplace, strong focus is placed on comparing student performance among larger peer groups. SynapticMash takes a different approach – an approach based on capturing critical information on all the factors that affect learning – attendance, assessment, professional development, class size, social and economic demographics, grades, state and federal standards and more.
Combined with easy-to-use interfaces, LearningQube delivers a complete assessment that not only quantifies data on individual students in far greater detail, but also reveals what’s working and not working in the classroom environment.
We’re convinced this focus on the entire learning landscape is the key to dramatic and measureable improvements in any district’s performance criteria.
With our emphasis on capturing the education environment, LearningQube’s suite of tools is well matched to four Title 1 objectives outlined in the ARRA:

1. Adopt rigorous college - and career-ready standards and high-quality assessments
ExamQube and EduQube can provide a system for matching standards-based curriculum to standards-based assessment. These alignments allow educators to identify a student’s understanding of subject matter or judge the quality of programs.  Teachers can utilize this information to address the individual student needs in preparing them for life beyond high school.

2. Establish data systems and use data for improvement
DataQube provides robust educational analytics, designed at its foundation to scale from the classroom, district, state and nation. DataQube can be one of your district’s most effective data gathering tools.

3. Increase teacher effectiveness and equitable distribution of effective teachers
Combining standards-based assessment and curriculum through the ExamQube and EduQube modules, administrators can see exactly where a teacher may need additional professional development and more effectively match students with highly effective educators based on data.  The leveraging of DataQube also allows administrators to gauge if student performance actually changed based on teachers receiving additional training.

4. Turn around low-performing schools
The LearningQube platform provides real, actionable information on the relationship between the learning environment and student performance.  LearningQube offers real time views of the effectiveness of your curriculum, professional development requirement, assessment programs, and many other factors of district performance.  You see not only what schools are improving but how that improvement is driven.
